Matthew James Jasper, 27, Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash on N. Stonebridge Dr in McKinney

Matthew James Jasper, a 27-year-old man from McKinney, TX was killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred on April 1, 2023, at around 2:30 a.m. The accident happened on the 1800 block of N. Stonebridge Dr in McKinney, Collin County. According to the crash report, the victim, identified as Matthew James Jasper, was driving a 2017 Jeep Compass northbound on N. Stonebridge Dr when he struck the inside curb, traveled along the curb for about 45 feet, and then left the roadway. The vehicle traveled another 21 feet before striking a Crepe Mrytle tree in the median and spun 180 degrees before coming to a stop in the southbound lanes of Stonebridge Dr.

First responders reported that Jasper was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, and he did not have a pulse when they arrived at the scene. Airbags were deployed, but there was no evidence of pre-collision braking before the crash. Jasper was transported to Baylor – McKinney hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
