On June 2, 2023, a crash occurred at the intersection of East Campbell Road and Kinnertone Lane in Garland, Dallas County. The collision involved two vehicles. A 2016 Honda HR-V SUV and a 1971 Chevrolet Corvette sports car. Thi Phuong Thao Nguyen, a 23-year-old resident of Houston, Texas, was driving the Honda SUV, while James Hugh Woody, a 55-year-old resident of Murphy, Texas, was behind the wheel of the Chevrolet Corvette. Stephanie Davison accompanied Woody as a passenger in the sports car.
According to the investigator’s narrative, the Honda SUV was traveling east on East Campbell Road, while the Chevrolet Corvette was heading west on the same road. During their travel, the Honda SUV veered off the south side of the roadway after encountering a curb. Upon re-entering the roadway, the SUV made a faulty evasive action, crossing into the westbound lane and colliding head-on with the Chevrolet Corvette. The crash resulted in significant damage to both vehicles.
As a result of the crash, James Hugh Woody and Stephanie Davison, the occupants of the Chevrolet Corvette, required immediate medical attention. They were promptly transported to Medical City Plano by the Garland Fire Department for further evaluation and treatment.
