Intoxicated Driver Kills Steven Dale Green After Running Red Light in the 8700 Block of Preston Road

An early morning crash involving a drunk driver on October 3, 2022 claims the life of 52-year-old Steven Dale Green. At approximately 5:15 a.m., officers responded to a crash on SH 289 at the intersection of SH 121 in Plano. The crash report indicates that Steven Green was traveling eastbound on SH 121 approaching the intersection of SH 289 in a black Ford F150. As he proceeded into the intersection, 23-year-old Summer Rose Dodge ran a red light while traveling southbound on SH 289. Her vehicle struck the pickup driven by Mr. Green and the pickup caught on fire, engulfing it with flames. Mr. Green did not survive the crash. Ms. Dodge was seriously injured and transported to the hospital. Police have not charged Ms. Dodge with anything to date, but her BAC was .188 just after the crash per the report. This crash remains under investigation.
