Lubbock, TX Crash Takes Life of Santos Donez Jr. and Leaves Officer with Serious Injuries

An early morning crash on January 12, 2023 left one man dead and another seriously injured. According to everythinglubbock.com, at approximately 2:09 a.m. Officer Wesley Haulk was responding to a crash in the 4300 block of South Loop 289 when he was struck from behind by a pickup truck while getting out of his vehicle. The driver of that vehicle, Santos Donez Jr. (36) was pronounced dead at the scene and the officer was transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
