18-Wheeler Causes Crash Claiming the Lives of Graylan Spring and Micah McAfoose

Two young athletes have lost their lives after an 18-wheeler made a left turn in front of them. The crash happened on January 20, 2023 on Highway 58 just north of Corrigan. According to the Lufkin Daily News, Graylan Spring was a passenger in a Nissan Versa driven by Micah McAfoose. The car was traveling on Highway 58 when it collided with the trailer of an 18-wheeler. A press release from the Corrigan Police Department said the 18-wheeler turned left from Plant Road onto Highway 58, into the path of the Nissan. The vehicle hit the trailer and became lodged underneath. Mr. McAfoose was pronounced dead at the scene and Mr. Spring was airlifted to a hospital in Conroe, where he later passed. The driver of the 18-wheeler did not suffer any injuries and the crash is under investigation by the Corrigan Police Department.
