Two Injured in Sherman Crash on U.S. 75 and Highway 82

A two-vehicle crash on September 22, 2022 left two injured on U.S. 75 in Sherman, TX. According to the Texas crash report, it happened at 7:57 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 75 and Highway 82. The report states that a gray Hyundai Elantra driven by Kaitlyn Cooper (18) was traveling west on the frontage road for Highway 82 when she approached the intersection at U.S. 75. A red Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Juan Grijalva (26) was approaching the intersection from the southbound frontage road for U.S. 75. The two vehicles collided in the intersection. The initial report indicates that Ms. Cooper could not recall what happened prior to and during the accident. The other driver, Mr. Grijalva, stated he had a green signal and was struck by Ms. Cooper while crossing the intersection. The report lists driver inattention on the part of Ms. Cooper as a possible contributing factor to the collision. Passengers in each vehicle were transported to the hospital for injuries.
