Longview Truck Driver Cited for His Role in the Crash that Claimed the Life of 15-Year-Old, Dakody Tyshawn Aahmad Hall

An Angelina County crash from earlier this month has led to a citation being issued to a Longview truck driver. It happened around 8:45 p.m. on January 4, 2023. According to KTRE, an 18-wheeler driven by Terry Lynn Vaught, Jr. (37) of Longview, was turning east from Crain Road onto State Highway 103. He did not yield right-of-way to a Chevy Colorado causing the Chevy to strike the trailer. Dakody Tyshawn Aahmad Hall was a passenger in the Chevy Colorado. Tragicall,y he passed at the scene. The condition of the drivers and other occupants has not been made available. There was a stop sign at the intersection, but only the pole was in place. TXDOT spokesperson Rhonda Oaks said that Crain Road is a private driveway and TXDOT is not responsible for stop signs on private driveways.
