Denton County, TX – A November 24, 2022 single-vehicle crash in rural Denton County has claimed the life of Forrest Lewis. According to the crash report, it happened at around 9 p.m. on FM 2931 near Knuckles Road when a black Mercedes SUV driven by Forrest Lewis failed to successfully navigate a curve and left the roadway. Authorities say that the vehicle was traveling at approximately 129 mph immediately prior to the crash and that the unit slid off the road, began to rotate clockwise and struck a barbed wire fence. The vehicle continued to rotate before striking some brush and small trees causing it to roll before coming to rest against a tree. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle while it was rolling over. The driver was located on November 29th by the landowner. Lewis was reported missing the day after Thanksgiving. He was last seen at Thanksgiving dinner near Bonanza Road and witnesses stated that the driver had been drinking and was highly intoxicated when he left at 9 p.m. A toxicology report is pending.
