18-year-old Driver Injured in Early Morning, Single-Vehicle Crash on Pecan Creek Trail in Cooke County, TX

According to the Texas Crash Report, State Troopers responded to a Cooke County crash on FM 922 near Pecan Creek Trail. At approximately 2:19 a.m. on November 6, 2022, Garrison Dierks (18), was driving a silver Dodge 1500 westbound on FM 922 when he veered south across the eastbound lane, into the south bar ditch, and collided with a barbed wire fence and then a pipe fence. Evidence on the roadway suggests a subtle veer south. There were no signs of braking nor evasive actions. The driver was under the influence of alcohol and drugs. It is the opinion of the investigating Trooper and by evidence on the roadway, the driver had fallen asleep due to the drugs and alcohol in his system coupled with the early morning hours. Mr. Dierks was transported to a local hospital by a passerby in their personal vehicle. Test results reported Marijuana in his system and a BAC of .154. He was charged with DWI.
