1 fatality following a four-vehicle collision in Tioga

Following a collision involving four vehicles in Tioga on Tuesday afternoon, a man from Pilot Point is dead and four others are injured. The 52-year-old Bernabe Rodriguez passed away following the collision on US-377, two miles south of Tioga, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Police said an SUV being driven by Coyre McGallion, 22, of Woodville rear-ended a car being driven by Erik Rodriguez, 28, of Pilot Point, as he was waiting to turn left onto Emberson Chapel Rd.Due to the collision, Rodriguez’s vehicle was forced into the path of two additional vehicles being driven by Jamie Clark, 37, and Kathryn Cassella, 63, both of Tioga.
Bernabe, a passenger in Erik’s vehicle, was reportedly declared dead at the site by Whitesboro EMS. Erik was taken to Medical City Denton with significant injuries, as was another passenger in his vehicle, Carlos Flores, 41, of Tioga. Cassella was also sent to Medical City Denton with critical injuries. According to the troopers, Clark was hurt and taken to Medical City Denton in stable condition. The SUV’s driver, McGallion, received medical attention and was later released. This is still under investigation, according to the troopers.
